Chillis

More chillies than we know what to do with. A few plants have yielded enough chillis for the entire pueblo. So, we do what we always do with a glut. We pick them, eat some, and preserve the rest.
Oven-dried, and stored whole.
De-cored and de-seeded, frozen.

Here are some of our favourite recipes, which use up chillis!
Smoky grilled aubergines with a kick
Fish stew to eat with a spoon
Pasta courgette smash
Almogrote gomero
Sometimes, simple tastes best
Fried aubergine with tomato sauce and cumin salt
Heavy on the lemons

5 to remember
los demás – the rest/remainder
para preserver – to preserve
congelado/a – frozen
una cuchara – a spoon
a veces – sometimes
