As big as the top joint on my little finger, these baby walnuts are a pale delicate green. 
Already the skin bears the imprint of the tiny dots, which get more pronounced as the nuts get bigger. More nuts than last year, which isn’t saying much: last year was a walnut failure.

Such delicate little baby walnuts. My great grandparents back in New Zealand had an amazing walnut tree. Thanks for the reminder.
