Suddenly the quince blossom is at its finest. It is my favourite of the spring blossom, the palest delicate shade of pink like a ballerina’s tutu. Or a flamingo in flight. Spring really is here now. The poplars by the river are starting to turn green instead of silver, and the trees on the vulture hillside opposite the house are also fresh green. The green is lovely, but it makes it more difficult to see the vultures roosting.
5 to remember
el membrillo – quince
pálido/a – pale
delicado/a – delicate
rosa – pink
la bailarina de ballet – ballerina
